JOIN OUR CHESS CLUB FOR CHILDREN

VISION
We are grooming a generation of chess lovers through chess clubs.

MISSION
We are using chess to build a generation of creative thinkers and disciplined planners. Also, promote social interaction between our children. 

OBJECTIVE
In our club, your child will have the best environment to develop their chess game, also interact with other players. In addition, they will have a chance to choose when to play and learn skills to improve the game.

PUBLIC TARGET
Our club will not offer classes for beginners at this moment. Instead, our target is players that already know the game's basic strategies and solidify the chess practice in our community. 
WHY SHOULD CHILDREN PLAY CHESS?
REASON 1

Chess has a mathematical basis. Mathematics is the tool of science, the language of technology and organized thought.

REASON 2

Chess develops cognitive ability: attention, memory, analysis, and logic; all fundamental building blocks for personal growth.

REASON 3

It is applicable to everyday life. It helps children develop the skills and social dexterity so important in society.

REASON 4

Chess encourages self-assessment, healthy competition and teamwork.

REASON 5

Chess encourages study and preparation as the way to achieve preset objectives and for the purpose of individual improvement.

REASON 6

Chess is an excellent use of a child’s free time.

REASON 7

The playing of chess can be exciting and therefore undertaken with enthusiasm.

REASON 8

The equipment necessary to play chess (boards and sets of pieces) are cheap, durable and easily available.

RULES AND MEMBERSHIP DETAILS
 
  • Want to be here! We want students who are excited to play chess.
  • Be kind and good! Treat everyone with respect and be a good sport.
  • Come on time! Be at chess club when it starts so you don't miss anything. Check the website for the time.
  • Stay until the end! Once you're here, stay in the room until we say it's over. Ask a grown-up if you need to leave early.
  • Quiet voices and focus! Chess is quiet. Listen when someone is teaching and when you're playing your game.
  • Just chess, please! No other games or toys allowed.
  • Gentle with pieces! If you take a piece, stand it up nicely on the side of the board.
  • Set up after playing! After each game, put all the pieces back in their starting spots.
  • Help clean up! When chess club is finished, help put the boards and pieces away carefully.
  • Bad behavior means you might leave. If you cause big problems, we might ask you to leave the club.
  • Listen to the leaders! Pay attention when the coaches or helpers are talking.
  • One game at a time! Finish your current game before starting another one.
  • Ask for help if you need it! Raise your hand if you have a question or don't understand something.
  • No food or drinks near the boards! Keep the chess stuff clean and safe.
  • Be patient with everyone! Chess takes time to learn, so be kind to others and yourself.
  • Have fun playing chess! That's what it's all about!
  • Usually for ages 16 and under. If you're a bit older, just ask us if you can join
